Medicines Check-Up

What is a Medicines Check-Up?
A medicines check-up is a meeting with our Pharmacist to discuss your current medicines. The check-up aims to help you better understand the medicines you take, how they work and what they do. It may be possible to discuss ways on how to increase the effectiveness of your medicines. The medicines check-up is an NHS service – you don't need to pay for it.

The medicines check-up will take place in our consultation room. This facility provides you with the privacy to discuss your medicines freely and openly, without being overheard.

On average, a check-up takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. You can arrange to have your check-up at a time convenient to you by booking an appointment with us.

During your check-up the pharmacist will make recommendations about your medicines. These will be written down and a copy sent to you following your appointment. A copy will also be sent to your GP who will review any suggested changes in consultation with you.

Medicines Check-Up provides the opportunity to:

  • Ask questions about your medicines
  • Discuss any worries you might have
  • Enquire about any possible changes to your lifestyle
